Replacing the Bike+ HandleBar
Replacing the Bike+ handlebar is a Member-friendly process. If you’ve received the new handlebar from our Member Support Team, please follow the instructions below to complete the replacement.
You will need the following tools for this replacement:
- 3mm Allen Wrench
- 4mm Allen Wrench
- 5mm Allen Wrench
- 3/8 in Drive Adjustable Torque Wrench
- 3/8 in 4mm Hex Bit
To replace your Bike+ handlebar, please start by following the steps below to remove the old handlebar.
1. Power down the Bike+ and unplug the power cable from the back of the Bike+ touchscreen.
2. Make sure the Bike+ touchscreen is vertical and rotated 180 degrees, so the front of the screen is facing away from the handlebars.
3. Tilt the touchscreen all the way up.
4. Using a 4mm hexbit or Allen Key, remove the two touchscreen bolts.
5. Remove the touchscreen.
6. Unplug the USB-C cable from the brake shroud.
7. Using a 3mm hex bit or an Allen Key, remove the end stop screw and the end cap by sticking the 3mm tool through the bottom hole of the end cap. Then, pull away.
8. Using a 5mm hex bit or Allen Key, remove the 3 bolts and washers from the top of the handlebar post.
9. Remove the handlebar.
Once you have successfully removed the old handlebar, please proceed with installing the new Bike+ handlebar by following steps 10-20.
10. Uncoil the cable coming from the bottom of the new handlebar.
11. Thread it through the handlebar post and fit the handlebar in place.
12. Replace the 3 handlebar post bolts and washers that you previously removed from the old handlebar post.
13. Screw them in place with a 5mm hex bit or an Allen Key and tighten to a quarter turn past when the screw becomes tight (20 N-m with a 3/8" drive torque wrench).
14. Return the end cap and end cap screw to the end of the handlebar, threading the power cable into place. Note: Please ensure that these bolts are fully tightened or else they will loosen over time and lead to shaky handlebars. The physics of the long arm and console require that these bolts be secured tightly.
15. Return the touchscreen to the monitor mount and make sure it is fully seated. We recommend having another person assist with attaching the touchscreen to the handlebars.
16. Return the touchscreen screws to the mount using a 4mm hexbit or Allen Key.
17. Tighten both mounting screws to a quarter turn past when the screw becomes tight.(7.4 lbs-ft, 10 N-m) using a 4mm hex bit or an Allen Key and a 3/8" drive torque wrench.
18. Tilt the touchscreen vertically and rotate it to face the Bike+.
19. Plug the power cable into the Peloton port.
20. Plug the audio cable into the 3.5mm port.

Replacing the Bike+ Handlebar Adjustment Knob
Replacing the Bike+ handlebar adjustment knob is a Member-friendly process. If you’ve received the new handlebar adjustment knob from our Member Support Team, please follow the instructions below to complete the replacement.
1. Turn the adjustment knob counterclockwise to lower the handlebar completely.
2. Continue turning the adjustment knob counterclockwise until the adjustment knob is completely out.
3. When replacing the new adjustment knob, turn clockwise to tighten.
4. Do not fully tighten the new adjustment knob if the handlebar post is not installed. There should be space between the bottom of the knob and the frame. Over tightening the knob without a handlebar post installed will cause permanent damage to the plastic sleeve.
5. Adjust the handlebar to your liking to verify that the new adjustment knob is working properly.
