Please follow the guidelines below in order to maintain your Peloton Tread for optimal use.
Tensioning the Belt
Check monthly to make sure your belt is properly tensioned. If adjustments need to be made, follow the steps below.
- Power down and unplug the Tread.
- Use the 6mm Allen key from the toolkit that came with your Tread to tighten the tensioning screws. Tighten each screw one quarter turn clockwise.
- Turn on the Tread and test. Briefly walk and run on the Tread to make sure the belt isn’t slipping.
- Repeat the adjustments as needed until the belt is tensioned, making sure the red center line falls between the two red centering dots on the front of the deck. NOTE: Make sure to power down each time before making adjustments.
Centering the Belt
Check monthly to make sure your belt is properly centered. If adjustments need to be made, follow the steps below.
- Power down and unplug the Tread.
- Use the 6mm Allen key from the toolkit that came with your Tread to tighten the tensioning screw on the side that needs to be adjusted.
- To pull the belt to the right, tighten the left screw one quarter turn clockwise.
- To pull the belt to the left, tighten the right screw one quarter turn clockwise.
- Turn on the Tread and test. Run the Tread for 30 seconds to let the belt adjust.
- Repeat the adjustments as needed until the belt is tensioned and the red centerline falls between the two red centering dots on the front of the deck. NOTE: Make sure to power down each time before making adjustments.
Lubricating the Belt
Your Tread belt needs to be lubricated once a year. Follow the steps below to lubricate the belt.
- Power down and unplug the Tread.
- Use the 3mm Allen key from the toolkit that came with your Tread to remove one screw from each rear end cap and three from the rear belt guard.
- Using the 6mm Allen key from the toolkit that came with your Tread, turn both tensioning screws seven turns counter-clockwise so you can reach underneath the belt.
- Lift the belt and apply two beads of silicone lubricant to the deck board, using 5ml of lubricant for each bead. Apply one halfway between the red center line and the right side of the deck and one halfway between the red center line and the left side of the deck.
- Move the belt manually around the deck three rotations to evenly distribute the lubricant.
- Tighten the two screws clockwise to their original tension. Make sure the red center line on the belt still sits between the two red centering dots at the front of the deck.
- Power up the tread and walk and run on the tread to make sure all adjustments are correct.
- Reinstall the belt guard and end caps. NOTE: Make sure to power down each time before making adjustments.
