On May 12th 2023, Peloton announced a voluntary recall of Peloton original Bike’s seat post sold from January 2018 to May 2023 in Canada. This voluntary recall is being conducted in cooperation with Health Canada. Peloton is offering a free, replacement seat post to all CA Peloton original Bike owners, which can be installed at home, without the need for a service call.
The original Peloton Bike’s seat post can break unexpectedly during use, creating a potential fall and injury risk. The issue has occurred primarily in users who are taller than 5’11” (180cm) and weigh 250 pounds (114kg) or more. Peloton has identified one report of a seat post breaking, and no reports of injuries, out of more than 108,000 units sold in Canada.

The Peloton original Bike model can be identified by its PL-01 model number on the label located on the inside front fork (near the flywheel), the red “P” logo followed by the white-coloured Peloton brand name on the Bike’s frame, and by its non-swivel display. As part of our commitment to product safety, we are voluntarily recalling the seat post of affected units to provide a free replacement seat post.
This voluntary recall only applies to the Peloton original Bike seat post sold in Canada. This matter does not affect global Bike+ nor international Peloton original Bikes.

A: No. Peloton is offering a free, replacement seat post to all Canadian Peloton original Bike owners, which can be installed at home, without the need for a service call. This voluntary recall only applies to the seat post of the original Peloton Bike sold in Canada.
Q: Can I get a refund for my Bike?
A: No. Our normal product return policy continues to apply. As our standard return policy states, you are eligible to request a return of your Peloton original Bike if you are within 30 days of your delivery date, subject to approval.
