With the Peloton Digital iOS app, you can connect a Bluetooth-enabled heart rate monitor to the app to see your real-time heart rate in every class. Tracking your heart rate during a workout is one of the best ways to see how hard you’re working and help track your progress over time.
In addition, you'll be able to take advantage of specific cycling classes geared around your heart rate using the Heart Rate Zone methodology. Each zone is based on your maximum heart rate (MHR), and our Heart Rate Zone classes are tailored to a specific intensity so you know exactly how hard or light you should be working at all times.
Connecting Your Heart Rate Monitor
To connect, simply turn on your Bluetooth-enabled device, and you will be able to view your heart rate live from your phone or tablet whenever you are in a class.
For chest strap models, please note that the leads should be slightly wet in order to best pick up your heart rate. You can dip your finger in water and gently wet each lead before putting it on; or just put it on after you've already worked up a sweat.
If you are having trouble pairing your heart rate monitor, ensure that your heart rate monitor is not currently paired with any other devices. If you continue to have trouble with your heart rate monitor, the battery on the monitor may need to be replaced. Some known devices that work are:
- Peloton heart rate monitor (purchased after December 2016)
- Bluetooth compatible Polar heart rate sensor straps
- Wahoo Tickr straps
Please note, when you airplay through the app, your HR will NOT appear on the AppleTV.
Ready to train? Start by taking one of our Heart Rate Zone classes featuring Christine D’Ercole and Jennifer Jacobs. These classes are designed to get you familiar with heart rate zones and enhance your approach to training.
