The power requirements for the Tread are: 120V, 60Hz, 15A dedicated circuit (North America only).
The Tread should be connected to a dedicated circuit. For an uninterrupted experience, avoid GFCI outlets.
GFCI (Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupter) Outlets
Ground-fault circuit interrupter outlets are designed to shut off if too much power is flowing through the ground port.
The Peloton Tread uses the ground on the outlet to disperse static electricity generated by machine operation, so if it’s plugged into a GFCI outlet, it’s likely to trip the breaker and shut down.
If this occurs, move the treadmill to a different outlet.
- GFCI outlets are usually found in bathrooms, kitchens, and other areas where interacting with water is common.
- You can often identify GCFI outlets by the red or white reset switch on the faceplate, but GFCI breakers often cover nearby outlets, too. Try moving the Tread to a different area.
- Remember that the Tread+ needs its own dedicated circuit.
We recommend a minimum download speed of 10-15 mbps and a minimum upload speed of 2.5 mbps.
